On my last You Tube Live, I demonstrated FOUR ways to color black and white designer series paper (DSP). Each of these were super easy to do and completely transformed the DSP. I used the Perfectly Penciled DSP for the first two cards. The first technique I demonstrated was using Stampin’ Blends. As you can see below, I used a So Saffron Stampin’ Blend to color the background rather than the flowers on this DSP. It really made the flowers pop!

Stampin Blends TechniqueFor the second card, I used water color pencils to color the dsp. I used Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Crushed Curry pencils then used a Stampin’ Blend on the color to finish it as well as a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to “flick” ink spots on the the card. I placed it on a piece of Basic Black cardstock which was placed on a piece of Coastal Cabana Cardstock as the card base. Although the card color is Coastal Cabana, I used Pool Party Sheer Ribbon to accent the card. It turned out so pretty!

For the third card, I used a really simple technique of coloring with a sponge dauber. I used the Rustic Harvest DSP which has color on one side and black and white on the other side. I used Mossy Meadow, Sahara Sand, Parakeet Party, Mango Melody and Cajun Craze to sponge on the leaves. I placed the colored piece on top of a piece of the same DSP which is Cajun Craze and white dots. This was placed on a Sahara Sand Card base and accented to Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Crushed Curry leaves I cut using the Aspen Tree Dies. I accented it with the Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon. It was such a simple card but so beautiful with the fall colors and oh so easy!

Sponge Dauber Technique

The last card was not demonstrated on camera but I explained how I made the card using a ruler and a Real Red and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker. It turned this regular black and white paper to a festive Christmasy type paper. It really is fun and festive once you add the leaf and flower die cuts. I cut greenery from Shaded Spruce Cardstock using the Merriest Frames dies. It’s a larger die so I just placed the paper over a corner of the die and then cut the pieces I wanted to  use.  This same die set has small poinsettias that I used to die cut Real Red flowers. I used Metallic Mesh Ribbon and Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to accent the poinsettias. I also added a bow made from Silver Simple Elegant Trim. I’m so happy with the way it turned out!
