On last night’s YouTube Live, I demonstrated how to use stencils to create a background to make three Christmas Cards. All three are so festive and pretty for the holiday season!

For the above card, I used Embossing Paste with a Snowflake Stencil. I applied Embossing Paste over the stencil which was layered over a piece of Balmy Blue Cardstock. After this piece dried, I glued it to a piece of Whimsy and Wonder DSP. I die cut snowflakes out of Snowy White Velvet Sheets and Silver Foil and layered them on top of the card. I love how it turned out. The stenciled snowflakes have a felted look to them.

For this card, I used my Blending Brush and applied Crumb Cake Ink to a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock. I applied this layer to a piece of Real Red Cardstock then attached the Mini Ruffled Real Red Ribbon to die cut ornaments and draped over the top then glued to the back of the card. The ornaments were die cut from the Gingerbread and Peppermint DSP. The only thing stamped on the whole card is the sentiment which came from Frosted Gingerbread Stamp Set. This is such a festive and fun card. I love traditional Christmas colors anyway so this is right up my alley.

The last card I created, I used the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set and Punch. I placed the striped stencil over a piece of Basic White then applied the ink using a sponge dauber in a dabbing rather than a brushing motion to keep the stencil from moving while applying the ink. I cut off the corners of the Basic White and used dimensionals to pop it up on opposing corners of the card front. I stamped a deer in Early Espresso on to Crumb Cake Cardstock and stamped and fussy cut a Christmas tree using Evening Evergreen ink. I used the Painted Christmas DSP for the background and Wonderful Gems to accent this adorable card!
