I am a part of a monthly design team and this month our challenge was to create a simple card using Whale Done stamp set and associated products. I got to stamp a lot and used the simple technique of “masking.” I love how this card turned out and hope you do too! This is a perfect card for a masculine birthday or thinking of you card. It could also be a retirement or celebration card with this sentiment. For my sentiment I used Many Mates Stamp Set.

When I first saw this stamp set and DSP I wasn’t sold on it. I got the opportunity to play with it at my friend Sandra’s and just had to give it a go. The papers are so colorful and fun! Since my granddaughter loves turtles so much, I had to make a fun card in homage to her. I have posted a picture of my sweet Lainie Bug below! 

I’m posting this up close picture so you can see the detail of the seaweed “floating” behind the turtle as he swims by. I just love the effect that masking gives in stamping. It’s not hard to do at all but it looks quite impressive! Also take a look at the detail you get using the Seabed 3D embossing folder!

This is the actual card I created for the Monthly Design Challenge. I love the colors of Just Jade and Pacific Point and that paper is perfect for the card!
