I made a beautiful Pen Box for the gift I made my honey for our anniversary but I needed a card as well. We’ve been married 31 years and we are still “love birds” and are called that by many of our friends. I recently had a Christmas in July in which I cut large frames of the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper. I had a few left and wasn’t sure to do with them so I decided to make a card with it!

Above you can see the full label which measures 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″. The label was cut from the Celebration Label Dies which is bundled with the Celebrations Tidings Stamp Set. 

Next I brought in my mini trimmer and cut the label in half since the label itself is too large for a card front. This gives me two labels for the price of one!

Next I colored the images using Seaside Spray Stampin’ Write Marker for the love birds, a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker for the umbrella and “You & Me” sentiment and Real Red Stampin’ Write marker for the hearts. I huffed on the stamp then stamped it onto Whisper White Cardstock and punched out using the Essential Tag Punch which is bundled together with the Everything Essential stamp set. The punch can be purchased alone or as a bundle with the stamp set and to save 10%!

After this I placed the half label onto a piece of 3 3/4″ x 5″ Seaside Spray Cardstock. Cutting the label in half made it the perfect size for the card front! I then put dimensionals on the back of the punched, stamped image and placed it in the middle of the label. I applied Wink of Stella to the stamped images then topped it with a bow I made out of Misty Moonlight Baker’s Twine from the Flower’s For Every Season Combo Ribbon pack. I doubled the twine when tying the bow then placed the bow on top using a glue dot.

Once I got my card front finished, I glued it to a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Cherry Cobbler then onto my Misty Moonlight card base. I think these colors compliment each other so well and correlate with the colors in the plaid design of the DSP. This was a fun card to make and my hubs loved it!!
