Connecting People Through Paper Creations
Recently I posted a couple of video tutorials featuring Tasteful Touches that showcased a beautiful flower on the front. I just had to make another card using this stamp set that didn’t include flowers and I love what I came up with!
This stamp set is so versatile and pretty. I love the flower, feather, font and other pretty images! I especially love the fonts though! Mixed fonts create such interest in my opinion. This feather is just so soft and pretty and a great size to really play it up on your card. I decided to have fun with color as well so I selected colors from the In Color sets.
My card front is Whisper White and is cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″. I started my card by stamping the sentiment across the bottom in Terra Cotta Tile Ink. With this large sentiment in place it gave me a guide for the placement of the feathers. I knew I wanted my feathers to be in a up down pattern and to make sure I had the correct spacing I stamped a feather in the up position on the left with Terra Cotta Tile Ink then stamped one upside down on the right using Bumble Bee Ink.
Next I stamped a feather in the upside down pattern using Cinnamon Cider Ink the the last feather right side up using Just Jade Ink.
I glued this Whisper White Card Front to a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Terra Cotta Tile Cardstock.
Next I cut a piece of Braided Linen Trim approximately 6-1/2″ and wrapped it across the front of the card front and secured it on the back side using glue dots. I then cut a 2″ piece of Braided Linen Trim and brought it up under the trim that is attached across the front of the card and tied a knot with it. Next I cut off the ends and took the pointed end of my Take Your Pick tool and frayed the ends. After this I took two of the wooden leaf pieces from the In Good Taste Elements and secured them under the knot with glue dots. Lastly I glued the card front to the Cinnamon Cider Card Base.
Finally I stamped a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White using Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider and Bumble Bee Ink I stamped feathers off the corner of the paper then used Terra Cotta Tile Ink to stamp the sentiment. In this way I was able to use the four colors that I had used on the front of the card. I just love how this card turned out and love the versatility of the stamp set.
Don’t forget I am holding a Online Card Class featuring the Sunflowers Dies and Here’s a Card Stamp Set. Details about this class on my August 5th blog. This is such a pretty set of cards and not a lot of stamping involved for those who are new to stamping. Last day to order is August 20th
