I think this is the third time I have made Paper Pumpkin Alternatives and I am enjoying it so much! This month I was a little concerned because if I’m being honest I didn’t care for the designs that much but one thing in its favor was the papers. I love argyle and I love the colors that were used. So with that, I had plenty to work from!

Below is a picture of the designs Stampin’ Up! provide you when you receive your Paper Pumpkin kit.  They’re  easy to do but I like a bit of a challenge so I had to take it a little farther and as I mentioned, I just wasn’t crazy about the designs so I got busy and had a blast!

FB Live PP Alt-SU designsIt might be because I’m not athletic and I’m not competitive when it comes to sports that I’m no crazy about the designs but as I mentioned the colors are great so let’s see what I did with it.

Aug PP Alt-1 card

For the first card, I used the frame and dimensional frame they included in the kit for making the shaker card shown in the middle of the photo above. I draped the ribbon across the bottom of the water color designed paper also included in the kit then stamped and layered the sentiment and placed a vellum leaf under it. Super easy and a pretty card! The crafting mojo only gets stronger as I go along as I let go and let the creativity flow!

Aug PP Alt-2 card

For the second card I used the ribbon stamp and stamped it with the “hardware” of the ribbon off the sides of the paper then stamped and layered the sentiment and placed it in the center. I used a Crushed Crushed Curry card base and trimmed down the original Paper Pumpkin card so that it would work as a layer. I wasn’t crazy about the ribbon with the hardware and I really like how this softened the look of the ribbon so that it didn’t look so harsh.

Aug PP Alt-3 card

So I really didn’t care for the trophy which just made me think of a cremation urn. I probably shouldn’t say that. Haha. So… what I did was I cut the base off of the urn and discarded it then I cut the top off of the urn and glued it to the bottom creating a vase instead. Then I placed the vellum leaves which I shortened and gold leaves from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. I also cut two of the cards in half then cut them diagonally from corner to corner then pieced them back together on top of a piece of Pacific Point Cardstock before placing this on a Mint Macaron Card base. I really like how I repurposed the “urn” ahem I mean trophy.

Aug PP Alt-4 card Now this was a really fun card although in the video you will see that I placed the whale image upside down! It was my first live in several weeks and boy was I nervous. Okay back to the card.  So when you receive this Paper Pumpkin kit, you receive the Mint Macaron Frames for the Shaker Card and inside of it is this white piece that has the Pacific Point Circle in the middle of it. When I saw it I immediately thought of a shaker card and the Whale Done Stamp Set! I took a piece of the Whale Done DSP that had waves and stamped the whale on it. I then stamped the sentiment, seaweed and fishes on the front of the white piece. After that I cut the window sheet provided in the kit down to fit the white piece then glued it on the back. After I did this I added foam adhesive strips around the circle on the window sheets and glued the designer series paper with the whale on the back of it after I filled the “well” with sequins. After that I glued it to a piece of Pacific Point Cardstock then glued that to a piece of Mint Macaron that I had already embossed using the Seabed 3D Embossing folder then finally placed this on a Pacific Point Card Base and embellished with sequins from the Whale Done Suite. I LOVE this card!
Aug PP Alt-5 card

For this card I didn’t actually create this on my FB but had played around with it ahead of time and took two of the cards and cut the fronts off then made a scrappy card with it! I layered the scraps on a piece of Pacific Point before gluing to a Thick Whisper White Card Base. I used a frame from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and stamped a sentiment from the Best Year Stamp Set in Pacific Point.  I punched two daisies from each of the paper designs then put them together with glue dots and placed a Gilded Gem in the center. I also used the vellum leaves provided in the kit to add that extra little flair.

August PP Alt-all

This is a picture of all of the designs and I still have a lot of cards, elements etc left over not to mention matching envelopes!
