Connecting People Through Paper Creations
I wasn’t sure about this stamp set when I first saw it but fell in love with the plaid designer series papers right away! The more I play with the papers the more I love it! I have had so much fun with these papers and will probably order extra since it is retiring soon. These will make great projects for the Fall Festivals this year!
For my first card, I used the scrappy strip technique. However, I didn’t do it in the traditional sense.
I created angles by placing one strip all the way across then placing a strip perpendicular to it creating right angles. I carried on this pattern with two strips in one direction then placing two strips perpendicular etc.
After adhering the entire front, being careful to leave space between each piece trying to keep the spaces consistent, trim the patch worked piece down to 3 ¾” x 5” then adhere to the Garden Green front then adhere to the card base. Stamp your sentiment on Whisper White in Night of Navy then cut the label out using the Label Me Lovely punch. I also punched out a piece of Garden Green then cut it in half and adhered it to the back of my sentiment. Next I placed dimensionals on the back and popped it up in the center of the card.
For my second card, I used scraps once again. This time I glued six different patterns to Basic Black Cardstock squares. I embossed the Garden Green card front with the Absolutely Argyle 3D Embossing Folder before gluing the squares on the front. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White that had been cut using the Stitched Square die then glued it to a Garden Green Stitched Square die cut piece before popping it up on dimensionals and placing it in the center of the card. So simple but such a pretty card!
For my third card, I cut a stitched rectangle out of the middle of my Basic Gray Card front. After cutting this out, I ran it through the Argyle embossing folder making such a wonderful layer. Once this was cut out I adhered my DSP to the card front. I also cut out the lady golfer image from the dsp using the next to the largest oval then cut a scalloped oval from Blushing Bride to layer behind the DSP. I wrapped Flax Ribbon around the card front before placing the stitched rectangle to the front of the card front. I adhered the oval to the front of the stitched/embossed rectangle then placed dimensionals on the back of this piece then placed in the center of the card front. Lastly I stamped “happy birthday” onto a strip of Whisper White then placed dimensionals on the back of this and placed on the bottom right corner of the card.
