Connecting People Through Paper Creations
During my April 16, 2020 FB Live, I demonstrated how to make three cards using different coloring techniques. This first card I used water color pencils then blended the color with a Blender Pen. The color pencils I used were Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green. I ran my Whisper White top layer through my die cutting machine using the Subtles Embossing Folder thenused the leaf die from Seasonal Layers to cut out the colored leaf. I used lots of dimensional to raise the Whisper White piece up from the Balmy Blue piece causing a “shadow box” effect. I then used the cut out leaf for the front of my card popping it up with dimensional and finishing it off with double stranded bow using Whisper White Baker’s Twine then adhered all of this to a Night of Navy card base.
This is the second card I made on the Live broadcast. The main difference in how I created this card is in the way I applied the color. This time I dipped my smallest block in ink pads then painted Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Mint Macaron and Pear Pizzazz on the Whisper White using my Aqua Painter. Once color was applied I finished the card exactly as the first except for attaching a 1/4″ Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon around the card front and attaching a bow using Mini Glue Dots.
This card has more of a dramatic effect than the other two and is fairly simple to create. I simply dragged my Mint Macaron, Soft Seafood and Pear Pizzazz Ink Pads across a Whisper White piece of Cardstock. I followed this up with stamping the background leaf with Pear Pizzazz randomly all over the front then filled these outlines in with the leaf “filler” stamp. Because of the transfer of color across the top of the Whisper White, you can’t tell that it was a Whisper White piece of Cardstock that I started with. This is layered on Soft Seafood and then my card base is Pear Pizzazz.
This is a card I created on my April 15th video tutorial using the sponged ink technique for the sun/moon(?) and wood grain paper for the Adirondack chair from Pressed Petals DSP. This has been one of my more favorite cards I’ve ever made. It is such a peaceful card!
Be sure to check out the next video tutorial (April 18, 2020) where I show you how to make a Peek A Boo Card using Colorful Seasons and Tropical Oasis DSP.
